Using a rice-based distillate and pure mountain spring water filtered for decades through the alpine soils of Mt. Kenashi, this small-batch gin is infused with sakura leaf, sumomo (Japanese plum), Kumamoto lemon, and applewood, evoking the joyful rebirth of nature after a long winter. Distilled in traditional copper pot stills, Iwai Gin reflects not only the terroir of the Japanese Alps but also the enduring spirit of Nozawa’s traditions and festivals. Tasting Notes

Nose: Soft and inviting, with notes of cherry blossom and plum nectar, followed by hints of lemon zest and sweet spring flowers.

Palate: Delicately layered and silky on the tongue. Sakura leaf lends floral elegance, while sumomo plum adds a gentle tartness. Mid-palate brings a mellow fruitiness reminiscent of ripe orchard fruits, lifted by Kumamoto lemon’s brightness and rounded out with applewood for a faintly sweet, woody undertone.

Finish: Clean and subtly perfumed with lingering floral-fruity notes and a whisper of dry spice.
