The name "Darmagi" was coined by Giovanni when he saw the Cabernet Sauvignon vines replacing Nebbiolo and exclaimed "Darmagi" in Piedmontese dialect, meaning "shame." Despite the initial sentiment, this wine has gone on to demonstrate the Langa region’s potential for producing world-class wines from non-traditional grape varieties.
