The GlenDronach Single Cask 1990, aged for a magnificent 27 years, is a masterpiece of traditional Scottish whisky craftsmanship, hidden amidst the serene and picturesque landscapes of the east Highland hills. Since its inception in 1826 by the visionary James Allardice, The GlenDronach Distillery has been a guardian of the art of sherry wood maturation, uniting the essence of Scottish spirit with the venerable Spanish oak casks. Over centuries, the distillery has remained true to its heritage, employing the same time-honored methods, including the iron mash tun, wooden washbacks, and saxophone-shaped copper pot stills that have been passed down through generations.

The GlenDronach's commitment to sherry wood maturation revolves around the fusion of two distinct types of Spanish oak sherry casks. Fruity and nutty Oloroso Sherry casks are meticulously selected, known for imparting a deep, enticing color and adding layers of complexity to the whisky. Complementing this, rich and intense Pedro Ximénez casks are chosen for their remarkable influence, endowing the whisky with unparalleled richness and depth of flavor.
