Caisteal Chamuis 12-Year-Old Blended Malt Scotch Whisky Finished In Oloroso Sherry Casks is a testament to the artistry of Mossburn Distillers. It begins with a blend of carefully selected Island Malts, each aged for a full twelve years in refill American Oak Hogsheads. The whisky then embarks on a new chapter as it's re-aged in a selection of Oloroso Sherry casks, including their own Solera system. The twelve years of maturation have had a subtle effect on the whisky, mellowing the maritime punch of the peat. This, however, is masterfully balanced with the seductive depth of oak spice and a touch of sweetness imparted by the Sherry casks. The result is a rich and complex whisky that retains residual phenolic flavors, finishing with a distinctive smoky character.
