Nelson Bros Blended Bourbon Classic Whiskey
Nelson Bros Blended Bourbon Classic is a masterful blend of exceptional, high-rye, straight bourbon whiskeys that embodies the spirit of versatility and American craftsmanship. At 93.3 proof, this robust bourbon is perfect for all occasions.
The story of Nelson Brothers Bourbon takes us back to the American dream and the desire for a fresh start in Nashville. Charles Nelson, an enterprising individual, opened a grocery store, and it wasn't long before three key products started to define his business: coffee, meat, and whiskey. As the demand for his whiskey began to outpace supply, Charles made a pivotal decision. He purchased the distillery responsible for producing his whiskey in Greenbrier, Tennessee, and obtained a patent for improved distillation methods.
Through this journey, Charles Nelson not only played a significant role in popularizing Tennessee whiskey but also became a household name. One of his notable creations, Belle Meade Bourbon, was one of approximately 30 labels he produced in the late 1800s. Unlike most of his other products, Belle Meade Bourbon was produced in collaboration with Nashville's Sperry Wade & Company, a third party that contracted Nelson's Green Brier Distillery to produce bourbon, rye, corn, and Tennessee whiskies under the Belle Meade brand.
Belle Meade Bourbon swiftly gained acclaim upon its market debut in 1878, renowned for its exceptional quality and great value. Even long after the end of Prohibition, the legacy lived on, as Charlie and Andy Nelson, recent college graduates, dedicated themselves to reviving the family business and resurrecting the once-prominent Nelson's Green Brier Distillery. Their relentless determination overcame numerous challenges, including investor skepticism, and brought the family business back to life.
