Peerless Barrel Aged Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey

Peerless Barrel Aged Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey 107 Proof is a true testament to a historic legacy resurrected. The roots of Kentucky Peerless Distilling Co. date back to the 1880s in the heart of Henderson, Kentucky. Revived by the bold personality of Henry Kraver, Peerless Whiskey had once faced near ruin but managed to flourish under his leadership. However, the era of Prohibition brought challenges that slowed its growth.

Fast forward a century, and Peerless Whiskey is in the capable hands of Henry Kraver's great-grandson, Corky Taylor, and great-great-grandson, Carson Taylor. They have rekindled the brand's legacy and are distilling under the original Distilled Spirits Plant number, DSP-KY-50, in a historic warehouse in downtown Louisville, near the Ohio River.

Peerless Whiskey distinguishes itself by its commitment to quality. It employs a sweet mash process, prioritizing quality over cost, in contrast to the more common sour mash. The whiskey enters the barrel at a lower 107 proof, necessitating 17% more barrels than higher-proof alternatives. Water is added before maturation, evolving from a dilutant to an essential ingredient in shaping the whiskey's character.
