Courvoisier V.S.O.P (Very Superior Old Pale) Cognac is the mid-tier expression from Courvoisier, the house with a historic link to Napoleon — who famously chose Courvoisier brandy for his personal supply. V.S.O.P sits squarely in the sweet spot of the Cognac ladder: more developed than V.S, more approachable than X.O, and the benchmark grade that most Cognac drinkers measure other houses against.

Blended from a selection of eaux-de-vie aged a minimum of 4 years in French oak (most components aged considerably longer), Courvoisier V.S.O.P leads on the nose with jasmine, peach, and toasted almond. The palate delivers vanilla, caramelised fruit, soft honey, and a layer of oak spice, finishing medium-long with a warming nuttiness. It is balanced enough to sip neat from a snifter, stable enough to take a rock or two, and rich enough to anchor classic Cognac cocktails like the Sidecar, Vieux Carré, and Cognac-and-Ginger.
