Editorial approach
Every review on Liquor Geeks is written by an author with firsthand experience with the bottle. Tasting notes come from controlled tastings (Glencairn or Copita glass, room temperature, neat, with optional water) — never from press-release copy. Scores and rankings are calibrated against a rotating reference set of benchmark bottles to prevent grade inflation.
We don’t accept sample bottles in exchange for favorable coverage. When an author has attended a distillery event on the brand’s dime, it’s disclosed in coverage that references material from the visit. Opinions are our own and the bottle we review is the bottle you can buy.
