Mount Gay XO Triple Cask Blended Rum is the flagship premium expression from Mount Gay, the world's oldest surviving rum brand, distilled in Barbados with roots going back to 1703. The XO Triple Cask designation reflects a blend of rums aged separately in three different cask types—traditional bourbon, new charred American oak, and Cognac casks—then married together to produce the layered richness that defines the house style.
The nose is deep and complex: ripe banana, dark caramel, vanilla, toasted almond, and a subtle hint of cognac oak and dried orange peel. The palate is full-bodied and silky—molasses, baked fruit, spice cake, roasted coconut, and a pronounced oak tannin that speaks to the triple-cask aging. The finish is long, warm, and elegant, with returning fruit and soft vanilla trailing off through gentle spice.
