Tequila Fortaleza is made the old way at the Sauza family's La Fortaleza distillery in the town of Tequila: agave cooked in stone ovens, crushed with a volcanic-stone tahona, fermented in wooden vats and distilled in small copper pots. Guillermo Erickson Sauza, great-great-grandson of Don Cenobio Sauza, revived the brand in 2005, and the Blanco, Reposado, Añejo and Still Strength bottlings have been among the most sought-after additive-free tequilas since.
