About The Macallan

The Macallan was founded in 1824 and operates on the Easter Elchies estate in Speyside. The distillery is known for its small copper pot stills - some of the smallest in the Highlands - and a rigorous cask program built around European and American oak seasoned with Oloroso sherry in Jerez, Spain. Sherry-seasoned oak is not a finish here. It is the foundation of the house style.

The core portfolio is organized into several ranges. The Sherry Oak line (12, 18, 25, 30) leans fully into European oak and sherry. The Double Cask line (12, 15, 18, 30) combines European and American oak sherry-seasoned casks for a softer, more honeyed profile.
