Blue Run Straight Bourbon Flight Series II 'Joshua Tree' is a striking bourbon that showcases a beautiful contrast between rich sweetness and bold spice. With a proof point of 117, this release balances its potency with a surprising lightness, making it an intriguing sip for both bourbon connoisseurs and those new to high-proof spirits. The first impression reveals a warm, inviting aroma of butterscotch, which seamlessly transitions to a palate full of bold spice and complex flavors. The finish, though hearty, is clean, with hints of oak and leather. Joshua Tree is a captivating experience, where rich sweetness and bold spice meet in perfect harmony.

Tasting Notes

Nose: The nose is dominated by the comforting scent of chewy butterscotch, evoking warmth and sweetness. Alongside the butterscotch, there's a distinct metallic undertone that adds intrigue, paired with subtle hints of dried fruits, spices, and wildflowers.

Palate: On the palate, the sweetness takes a backseat to a spice-forward profile. Bold baking spices like cinnamon and allspice dance alongside flavors of dry rye bread and the depth of wildflower honey. The body remains surprisingly light for the proof, with a lively fruitiness reminiscent of apricot, mango, and honeydew.

Finish: The finish brings a satisfying warmth, with lingering flavors of leather and oak. The finish is long enough to leave a lasting impression, yet balanced with a smoothness that keeps it from being overwhelming.
