Boduen VS 5 Year Armenian Brandy comes from Shaumyan-Vin LLC in Armenia's Ararat Valley, where grape eaux-de-vie are distilled from Kangun, a native Armenian white grape grown in volcanic soils near Shahumyan, and aged at least five years in oak under longtime chief technologist Donara Kostandyan. Armenian brandy has a distinct production heritage separate from Cognac, and Boduen's VS expression represents the house's core aged style.
The brandy pours a deep amber with a soft golden-copper hue. On the nose it is refined and pure, built around vanilla and noble oak with a touch of delicate freshness. The palate is delicate and multi-layered, showing ripe fruit and spring flowers, and it closes with a soft, fresh finish.
