A 26-year-old peated single malt from Caperdonich, the Speyside distillery that closed in 2002 and was demolished in 2010.
Distilled in 1997 and bottled as a Vintage Edition in Pernod Ricard's Secret Speyside collection, this is one of the last peated runs from Caperdonich, which was built in 1898 as the sister distillery to Glen Grant in Rothes. Twenty-six years in oak have turned the peat smoke soft and sweet, wrapping it around orchard fruit, honey and gentle spice. Bottled at 51% ABV (102 proof) without chill filtration. With no more spirit being made, every bottle that's opened shrinks the remaining supply, so it's a strong pick both to drink and to keep. 700ml.
