Chicken Cock Red Stave is a unique and expertly crafted bourbon that celebrates the rich heritage of two iconic American industries: Kentucky bourbon and California wine. This distinctive whiskey is made by finishing Kentucky Straight Bourbon in carefully selected J. Wilkes Petite Sirah barrels. The result is a harmonious blend of flavors that appeal to both whiskey and wine enthusiasts. Chicken Cock, originally established in 1856 in Paris, Kentucky, brings its long-standing expertise to this innovative expression, while J. Wilkes, with over 150 years of winemaking experience, adds its own touch of excellence. The combination of these legacies creates a whiskey that is both rich and complex, capturing the essence of both traditions.

Tasting Notes

Appearance: A beautiful, rich dark mahogany color with a deep cherry wood hue.

Nose: Enticing aromas of dark chocolate, toasted oak, and dried fruit rise to greet the senses, setting the stage for a luxurious tasting experience.

Palate: The initial taste is dominated by traditional bourbon notes of dark chocolate, bold caramel, and vanilla. These quickly evolve into a symphony of fruit flavors, including pear, apple, cherry, and red currant. The mid-palate reveals a bright cranberry tartness and a hint of black pepper, adding depth and complexity.

Finish: The finish is long and lingering, with a delightful blend of nutmeg and clove spice. This complex ending leaves a warm and satisfying impression, making each sip a memorable experience.
