Christian Brothers Brandy VSOP is an American brandy produced in California by the Christian Brothers distilling tradition, which dates back to the 19th century. VSOP — 'Very Superior Old Pale' — designates a brandy aged longer than standard VS bottlings, giving it a deeper color and more layered flavor profile. Made from a blend of carefully selected grapes and aged in oak barrels, it pours a deep amber-gold.
On the nose expect dried apricot, raisin, toasted oak, vanilla, and a touch of honey. The palate is smooth and rounded, with stewed orchard fruit, caramel, baking spice, and a gentle oak warmth finishing clean and pleasantly sweet. Christian Brothers VSOP sips neatly in a snifter at room temperature, works beautifully in a Brandy Old Fashioned or Sidecar, and is a classic addition to coffee drinks, hot toddies, eggnog, and seasonal spiced cocktails. It is also a kitchen staple for flambé and dessert sauces.
