Doc Holliday 16 Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a limited-edition release announced by the World Whiskey Society, drawn from the same stock family as the brand's 15 year expression. Bottled undiluted at cask strength, this release is limited to 90 individually numbered bottles, with the label reading "Limited Edition." It is distinct from the World Whiskey Society's 16 Year Cigar Blend, a separate triple-cask finished release.
Distilled from a mash bill of 75% corn, 13% rye, and 12% malted barley, this bourbon spent 16 years maturing in new charred American oak. The color runs deep mahogany, opening on the nose with caramelized apples, maraschino cherry, clove, nutmeg, and roasted pecans. The palate is smooth and velvety, layering caramelized apple and cherry over warming spice, vanilla sweetness, and toasted buttery nuttiness, before a long, refined finish where clove and nutmeg fade into caramelized apple and roasted pecan.
