El Bandido Yankee Añejo Tequila is produced at El Viejito Distillery (NOM 1107) in the highlands of Los Altos de Jalisco under Master Distiller Karina Rojo. Made from 100% Blue Weber agave and certified additive-free, this Highland añejo is aged 12 months in stripped and re-charred American Oak Bourbon barrels — a technique that amplifies oak structure while preserving the character of the agave. The expression earned Best in Show at the 2024 TAG Global Spirits Awards and a 93-point score from Tastings.com.
The nose leads with vivid agave and vanilla bean alongside ripe cherry and warm baking spices. On the palate, cinnamon and allspice weave through the agave core, with toasted oak and cracked black pepper building toward a long, layered finish that holds its shape well past the swallow.
