A tribute to the visionary founder of the House, Richard Hennessy is a monumental expression of time, heritage, and craftsmanship. Created from some of the rarest and most precious eaux-de-vie preserved in “The Founder’s Cellar,” this exceptional blend represents the pinnacle of the Maison’s savoir-faire since 1765.

Crafted in extremely limited quantities—drawn from just 12 historic tierçons, handcrafted in French oak by Hennessy’s own coopers—Richard Hennessy is both rare and profoundly expressive. The presentation is equally extraordinary: a bold, architectural decanter in Baccarat crystal designed in collaboration with visionary architect Daniel Libeskind, complete with ritual accessories that transform each tasting into a ceremony.

Confident, assertive, and endlessly complex, this is not merely Cognac—it is a living masterpiece, continually revealing new dimensions with every encounter.

Tasting Notes

Color
Deep, luminous amber with warm, golden intensity—radiating richness and depth before the first sip.

Nose
Elegant and expansive. Delicate floral aromas intertwine with soft mixed spices, nutmeg, and hints of blanched fennel. Subtle layers of candied fruit and fine oak rise gradually, offering both refinement and quiet power.

Palate
Profound and harmonious. Peppery spice and structured oak unfold first, followed by supple leather notes, toasted nuts, and preserved fruits. Each wave of flavor returns in evolving form, building a magnificent symphony of depth and aromatic complexity. The finish is exceptionally long, warm, and contemplative, with spices and fruit lingering in seamless balance.
