Killowen Single Malt Irish Whiskey represents the perfect marriage of tradition and innovation. Produced at Ireland’s smallest distillery, nestled in the heart of the Mourne Mountains, this whiskey combines meticulous craftsmanship with a deep respect for the environment. Using flame-fed pot stills and worm tub condensers, Killowen creates a rich, complex spirit that reflects Ireland’s heritage while embracing modern tastes. Finished in PX Sherry Butts and Dark Rum Casks, this whiskey delivers a luxurious fusion of tropical and dried fruit flavors, complemented by the signature orchard notes of apples and pears from the sourced distillate.

Tasting Notes

Nose: The bouquet bursts with opulent molasses and tropical fruits like ripe bananas and pineapple, accented by a medley of raisins, dried figs, and sultanas. Subtle aromas of orchard apples and pears emerge, balanced by a gentle hint of warm spice and oak.

Palate: A velvety texture coats the tongue, unveiling layers of raisin and dried fruits from the PX Sherry influence. These rich, sweet notes are harmonized by the dark rum’s molasses depth and a hint of tropical zest. The backdrop of apples and pears adds brightness, while undertones of toasted oak and nutmeg provide warmth and complexity.

Finish: Long and satisfying, with lingering dried fruits, a touch of dark chocolate, and a whisper of maritime salinity, paying homage to Killowen’s highland coastal environment.
