La Luna Mezcal Chino + Bruto
La Luna Mezcal Chino + Bruto is a traditional ensamble from Michoacán, Mexico, produced by La Luna and bottled at the strength of the batch. It marries two agaves of the region — cupreata, known locally as chino, and the wild-growing inaequidens called bruto — cooked, fermented, and distilled the old way to capture the character of the Michoacán highlands in a single bottling.
The liquid opens with roasted agave and green, herbaceous aromatics over a bed of wet stone. On the palate, cooked agave sweetness runs into black pepper, citrus peel, and a gentle thread of earthy smoke, with the wild bruto agave lending a rustic, vegetal depth. It finishes long and warming, with lingering minerality and dried herbs.
Small-batch Michoacán mezcal like this rarely sits on shelves for long, making it a strong pick for agave collectors or as a standout gift for the mezcal drinker who already knows the big names. Pair it on the bar with our tequila and mezcal selection at Liquor Geeks — from Don Julio to other artisanal agave bottlings. Ships to most US states. Adult-signature required at delivery.
