Padre Azul Artist Edition Double Barrel Tequila Reposado

Padre Azul Artist Edition Double Barrel Reposado is a limited release of 3,000 bottles built around a bottle design by Guadalajara artist Laura Garcia Rulfo, produced with an all-female creative team including Adriana and Erika Sangeado. The tequila is distilled from 100% blue Weber agave at NOM 1466, Tequila Tres Mujeres, in Amatitan, Jalisco, and finished with a gold skull stopper and a printed leather jacket around the bottle. A portion of proceeds from this edition supports VIFAC, an organization that assists pregnant women in Mexico.

This reposado rests through a double barrel process, aging six months in ex-bourbon American oak before moving to a second ex-bourbon barrel for two additional months, a step that builds layered oak character on top of the agave base. The color runs gold, with a nose of summer apples, cooked agave, and bright fruity tones. On the palate it shows sweet cooked agave, light caramel, toasted oak, and milk chocolate alongside baked apple notes, finishing round and sweet with lingering warmth.
