Graceful, expressive, and undeniably elegant, the Riedel Ente Decanter is a sculptural piece of functional art. Introduced in 1998, its name—Ente, the German word for "duck"—is a nod to the decanter’s low, rounded silhouette and avian elegance. Hand-blown from clear fine crystal by RIEDEL’s master artisans, each piece is one-of-a-kind, with subtle variations that reflect its handmade nature.

Designed to hold a single (750ml) bottle of wine, the Ente’s wide body offers ample surface area to allow young wines to breathe and mature wines to fully express their bouquet. Its sloping neck and curved body also make for a smooth, precise pour.

Whether on a fine dining table or showcased at a wine tasting, the Ente is a guaranteed conversation starter.

Tasting Notes

Decanting with the Riedel Ente enhances the sensory journey of your wine:

Aroma: Releases locked-in aromas in young reds and helps dissipate reductive notes in older vintages.
Flavor: Softens tannins, rounds edges, and elevates fruit, spice, and earthy complexity.
Finish: Leaves a longer, smoother, and more harmonious finish on the palate.

Ideal for full-bodied reds such as Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot, as well as complex whites like aged Chardonnay.

Serving Suggestions

Best For: Sophisticated wine service at home or in fine dining settings.
How to Use: Decant your wine 30–60 minutes prior to serving to unlock its full potential.

Perfect Pairings:

Decant an aged Rioja for lamb shanks with rosemary
Serve a young Syrah alongside braised short ribs
Use with a buttery white Burgundy for a roast chicken with truffle jus

Care Tip: Handwash gently with warm water and avoid using Riedel bottle cleaners, as their shape may become lodged inside this uniquely styled vessel.
