Umiki Ocean Fused Whiskey is a pioneering and authentic expression that pays homage to Japan's reverence for nature and the profound symbolism of the ocean and pine trees. Crafted with innovation and respect for tradition, Umiki stands as the world's first whisky finished in Japanese pine barrels. The name "Umiki" itself reflects the fusion of two vital elements: "Umi" meaning ocean and "Ki" meaning tree, capturing the essence of life in Japan.

Tasting Notes

Appearance: The whisky gleams with a golden hue, reminiscent of the sun-kissed shores where land and ocean meet.
Nose: The aroma is a captivating blend of maritime influences and the soothing presence of pine. Notes of briny sea air mingle with hints of citrus, while the resinous quality of the pine barrels adds a unique earthy undertone. The nose evokes a stroll along a Japanese coastal forest, with a subtle touch of malt sweetness lingering in the background.
Palate: Umiki unfolds on the palate with a delicate dance of ocean-side malt whiskies and reserved grain whiskies. The pure filtered ocean water enhances the maritime character, bringing forth flavors of sea salt, seaweed, and a gentle minerality. The fusion with Japanese pine barrels adds complexity, imparting a subtle resinous quality, and creating a harmonious balance with the underlying malt sweetness.
Finish: The finish is a lingering symphony of nature's elements, with echoes of brine, coastal breeze, and a touch of pine that leaves a lasting impression.
