The Diamond XO Cognac from World Whiskey Society is an XO Fine Champagne Cognac, blending eaux-de-vie drawn from the Grande and Petite Champagne crus and distilled in traditional copper pot stills. The liquid is finished in Mizunara casks, the rare Japanese oak prized for the depth it adds to spirits. It arrives in a faceted, diamond-cut glass decanter with an engraved crystal stopper and metal collar, boxed for display or gifting.
In the glass this cognac shows a deep amber-copper color. The Mizunara finish layers vanilla, cocoa, and warm spice over the lighter floral aromatics typical of a Fine Champagne cognac, and that same interplay carries onto the palate, which is rich and rounded, blending vanilla and cocoa with gentle spice against a fruity, floral core. The finish is long, warm, and softly spiced, with lingering oak.
The decanter presentation and Mizunara finish make this a standout for collectors building out a cognac shelf or shopping for a milestone gift.
