1792 Single Barrel Kentucky Straight Bourbon is the hand-selected, one-barrel-at-a-time release from the Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky, the oldest operating distillery in the town. The 1792 mash bill is high-rye, which gives every bottle in the line a spicy backbone; the Single Barrel is chosen for barrels that show that character at its fullest and bottled at 98.6 proof.
Expect caramel, vanilla and toasted oak on the nose, then a bold palate of brown sugar, rye spice, black pepper and dark fruit, finishing long and warm with a lingering oak sweetness. Because each barrel is bottled on its own, no two releases are identical. It drinks well neat and holds up to a cube, and it makes a spicy, full-bodied Manhattan.
If you already pour 1792 Small Batch or Four Roses Single Barrel, this is the step up in intensity at a price that still works for a weeknight bottle.

Why Liquor Geeks recommends it
This is a Kentucky straight bourbon bottled one barrel at a time at the Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown, the oldest operating distillery in town. The 1792 mash bill is high-rye, and the Single Barrel picks are chosen for barrels that show that spicy backbone at its fullest, then bottled at 98.6 proof. Expect caramel, vanilla and toasted oak on the nose, followed by brown sugar, rye spice, black pepper and dark fruit, with a long, warm finish of lingering oak sweetness. Because every barrel is bottled on its own, no two releases are identical, which makes it a fun bottle to revisit and compare. It suits the drinker who already enjoys 1792 Small Batch and wants more intensity, and it rewards both slow neat pours and a spicy, full-bodied Manhattan. We carry it because it delivers real single-barrel character with a recognizable house style, and it is a bourbon we are happy to open on an ordinary weeknight.
Pairs well with
- Grilled ribeye steak — The charred oak and black pepper notes echo the sear on the meat while the caramel sweetness rounds out the richness.
- Smoked brisket or ribs — Brown sugar and toasted oak in the bourbon mirror the bark and smoke of slow-cooked barbecue.
- Side-by-side barrel tasting night — Since no two single-barrel releases are identical, pouring it next to 1792 Small Batch is a great way to taste how the rye spice and intensity change.
