Abadía Retuerta’s Pago Garduña Syrah 2020 is a rare and exceptional expression of Syrah from the Ribera del Duero. Crafted from a single vineyard with limestone-rich soils and sheltered by pine forests, this wine showcases the seamless integration of power, elegance, and terroir-driven complexity. Aged for 16 months in oak barrels, it embodies the rich, spiced character of the Rhône while maintaining the structure and depth of a Spanish masterpiece. This limited-edition Syrah is a true collector’s wine, presented in a beautifully crafted wooden box.

Tasting Notes

Color: Impenetrable violet with brilliant purple reflections.

Nose: A bold and complex bouquet, featuring ripe black cherries, sweet blackberries, violets, pipe tobacco, and hints of spicy cured meat. Subtle undertones of toasted oak, balsamic notes, and a whisper of graphite add further depth.

Palate: Concentrated yet refined, with an explosion of dark fruit, velvety tannins, and a seductive warmth. The texture is both silky and structured, delivering incredible balance and elegance. Notes of licorice, cracked black pepper, and dark chocolate emerge as the wine evolves in the glass.

Finish: Incredibly long and expressive, with lingering spice, floral undertones, and a mineral-driven freshness.
