BenRiach Single Malt 12-Year-Old, distilled in 2009, is a testament to the distillery's commitment to creative whisky production and an innovative approach to flavor. Founded in 1898 in the northern region of Speyside, BenRiach has always been known for doing things a bit differently. Their philosophy revolves around a unique approach to whisky distillation, cask maturation, and blending, all with a relentless pursuit of exceptional flavor. This philosophy is deeply ingrained in every step of the whisky-making process at BenRiach. The distillery prides itself on distilling three distinct styles of whisky, each matured in a diverse range of cask types, which includes classic unpeated, Highland peat-smoked, and small batches of triple-distilled whisky. The rich layers of Speyside taste that define BenRiach's whiskies are derived from "fruit-forward" distillation, the use of mineral-rich water, a unique four-infusion mashing process (as opposed to the usual three), and the practice of onsite floor maltings where locally sourced barley is turned by hand.
