Blue Run Straight Rye Whiskey Emerald Single Barrel 4 Year marks the distillery's second release in the rye whiskey category and showcases the mastery of craft in every sip. Contract distilled at Castle & Key in Frankfort, Kentucky, this limited edition is derived from only 189 barrels, making it a rare and highly sought-after expression. Emerald Rye presents the classic spicy and bold character of rye, balanced beautifully by the depth and complexity typically found in aged bourbon. The result is a whiskey that brings a distinct vibrancy and full-bodied experience, perfect for rye enthusiasts and newcomers alike.

Tasting Notes

Nose: The nose opens with an inviting blend of creamy butterscotch and rich caramel, leading into the subtle warmth of toasted oak and a hint of spicy pepper. These aromas are both comforting and intriguing, setting the stage for a full-bodied tasting experience.

Palate: On the palate, the whiskey offers a lively combination of buttercream and shishito peppers, awakening the senses with a delightful heat. This spiciness is quickly balanced by a fruity burst of apples and pears, which evolve into the more complex notes of cloves and rye spice, adding layers of depth to the flavor profile.

Finish: The finish is robust and long-lasting, leaving a lingering warmth of leather, oak, and brown butter. This smooth and slightly sweet conclusion offers a perfect ending to the dynamic ride of flavors.
