Del Maguey Chichicapa Boca Del Cerro is a special edition expression crafted by renowned palenquero Faustino Garcia Vasquez in the village of San Balthazar Chichicapam, Oaxaca. As part of Del Maguey's Single Village series, it reflects the authentic essence of Oaxacan mezcal-making traditions. Produced using 100% Espadín agave and distilled in wood-fired copper pot stills, this mezcal offers a complex and refined drinking experience. The Boca Del Cerro release represents the elevated slopes (“Boca Del Cerro” meaning “Mouth of the Hill”) where the agave thrives, resulting in a spirit of remarkable character and depth.

Tasting Notes

Visual: Crystal clear with bright, reflective clarity.

Nose: Fresh citrus and roasted agave lead the way, followed by layers of smoke, earth, and hints of tropical fruit. Subtle undertones of herbs and toasted nuts add further complexity.

Palate: Full-bodied and silky, offering a robust combination of sweet roasted agave, green herbs, and peppery spice. Notes of caramelized pineapple, citrus zest, and cacao emerge, balanced by a signature smoky richness.

Finish: Long, smooth, and warming with a lingering smokiness and a touch of minerality that echoes the terroir.
