Built from El Septimo's XO Extra Old base cognac, this release spends an additional twelve months finishing in an exclusive ex-barrel sourced from Château La Croix Younan, a Younan-owned estate in Saint-Émilion Grand Cru, Bordeaux, and carries the Appellation Cognac Contrôlée designation. It is a distinct bottling from the brand's standard XO Extra Old Cask, set apart by this dedicated Bordeaux barrel finish.
The cognac pours a golden amber and opens with toasted almond and crystallized ginger on the nose. On the palate it shows deep vanilla layered with raspberry jam and a touch of honey, developing into a long finish of amaretto mocha and morello cherry over caramelized crème brûlée.
