El Septimo XO Fins Bois Rare Cask Cognac is a single-cask bottling from El Septimo's Rare Cask Collection, drawn from the Fins Bois AOC — the Appellation Cognac Fins Bois Contrôlée. The eau-de-vie spends an extra 12 months finishing in an ex-barrel sourced from Château La Croix Younan, a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru estate, before being bottled as an Exclusive Barrel release at 40% ABV.
The wine-cask finish layers onto the cognac's core character, opening with velvety spice and notes of flambéed tiramisu alongside a bright zest of orange peel. On the palate it turns rich and mocha-driven, carrying a swirl of melted fruit liqueur through to a long, sweet-spiced finish of mocha and orange.
