Fuenteseca Reserva 7 Year Extra Añejo Tequila
Fuenteseca Reserva is a line of ultra-aged, vintage-dated extra añejo tequilas produced at the Tequileña distillery (NOM 1146) in the town of Tequila, Jalisco. Fourth-generation agavero Enrique Fonseca — whose family has cultivated highland blue agave across more than 3,700 acres since the 1880s — serves as master distiller. The 7-Year is the most accessible entry point into the Reserva lineup and among the most representative of what extended oak aging does to highland agave: it rests in a combination of American, French, and Canadian oak, including ex-bourbon and ex-wine casks, and is bottled additive-free.
Seven years in a varied oak regime coax out dried apricot and candied fig, underpinned by cognac-like oak, deep caramel, and layered baking spice. The palate is concentrated and structured, with tannins that frame rather than dominate. The finish is long and warm, cycling through dark dried fruit, toasted vanilla, and lingering oak.
A natural fit for aged-tequila enthusiasts and collectors drawn to single-vintage, additive-free expressions at a price well below the Reserva 18- and 21-Year statements. Those exploring the Fuenteseca range will find the Reserva 5 Year Extra Añejo and Cosecha vintage-dated expressions available at Liquor Geeks. Ships to most US states. Adult-signature required at delivery.
