A quintessential expression of Barolo, this 2019 release from Giovanni Rosso showcases the power, structure, and elegance of Serralunga d'Alba—one of the most prestigious communes within the Barolo DOCG. Crafted from Nebbiolo grapes grown on chalky, mineral-rich soils, this wine reflects both tradition and terroir. Under the guidance of Davide Rosso, the estate follows a natural, environmentally conscious philosophy, fermenting in concrete and aging in large French oak casks for up to three years. The result is a Barolo of depth, finesse, and remarkable aging potential—true to the legacy of this century-old family estate.

Tasting Notes

Appearance: Brilliant ruby red with evolving garnet highlights, a hallmark of classic Barolo.

Aroma: Elegant and complex, opening with floral notes of rose and violet. Layers of black cherry and red berry fruit unfold alongside earthy undertones of forest floor, with hints of coffee, licorice, and subtle spice adding depth.

Palate: Powerful yet refined, with a structured backbone. Flavors of ripe red cherry and black fruit are complemented by savory, earthy nuances and a touch of balsamic complexity. The acidity is vibrant, providing lift and precision, while the tannins are firm yet beautifully rounded, giving the wine both grip and elegance.

Finish: Long, persistent, and slightly mineral, with lingering notes of dried fruit, spice, and polished tannins that promise further evolution with age.
