Glen Scotia's 2022 Limited Edition Seasonal Release is a masterfully crafted Campbeltown single malt that spent 11 years maturing in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels before being finished for a final 12 months in select Amontillado sherry casks. This elegant dual maturation brings together the maritime character of Glen Scotia with layers of dried fruit, spice, and a vibrant sherry influence. Bottled at cask strength, it’s a rare and flavorful celebration of seasonal tradition, complexity, and craftsmanship.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Rich and expressive with the unmistakable sweetness of dried fruits—figs, raisins, and dates—layered over warm spice. Notes of cinnamon rolls, toasted oak, and creamy vanilla emerge with time, underscored by a hint of salty coastal air.

Palate: Full-bodied and well-rounded. A balance of sweet and savory with red berries, tropical fruits, and subtle dried fruits. The spice builds with black pepper, sea salt, and a soft herbal edge. The sherry cask influence adds depth without overpowering the natural Campbeltown character.

Finish: Medium to long. Hints of orange zest, ripe banana, dry grass, walnuts, and a touch of sea spray. Fades gently with a delicate nuttiness and a light maritime freshness.
