Glenfiddich 29 Year Grand Yozakura is a limited edition single malt Scotch whisky that commemorates the enchanting and ephemeral experience of 'cherry blossom viewing at night.' Inspired by the beauty of cherry blossoms under the moonlight, this expression is a testament to Glenfiddich's commitment to innovation. It holds the distinction of being the first Scottish single malt whisky to be finished in casks that previously held Japanese Awamori, a rice-based aged spirit native to the island of Okinawa.

Tasting Notes

Glenfiddich 29 Year Grand Yozakura offers a truly unique and multi-faceted tasting experience, with a harmonious blend of flavors and aromas that pay homage to both its Scottish and Japanese influences:

Nose: The whisky opens with invigorating zingy herbal aromas, which are beautifully complemented by notes of zesty and ripe fruits. Caramelized almonds provide a delicate sweetness, while a hint of cinnamon adds a subtle spice to the bouquet.
Palate: The palate is a complex journey of flavor. It introduces toasted oak, creating a robust foundation for the whisky's character. Creamy vanilla toffee-coated green apples contribute a rich and sweet quality, and silky tannins round out the texture. These elements come together to offer a well-balanced and multi-layered taste.
Finish: The finish is both earthy and enduring, leaving a lasting impression of the whisky's intricate blend of flavors. The influence of the Awamori casks adds a unique twist, making it a truly exceptional and memorable whisky.
