Kaiyo First Edition “The Rubi” Japanese Mizunara Oak Whiskey is a rare and beautifully layered expression that showcases the elegance of Japanese oak and the richness of port cask finishing. Crafted by Kaiyo Whisky, this limited First Edition release is made from 100% malted barley and matured primarily in rare Japanese Mizunara oak casks for over a decade.
After its long maturation, the whiskey is finished in first-fill Ruby Port pipes personally selected by the Master Blender, adding depth, fruit richness, and refined sweetness. The combination of long Mizunara aging, ocean maturation, and port finishing creates a complex and balanced whiskey that is both traditional and distinctive. Non-chill filtered and produced in limited quantities, The Rubi stands as one of the more unique Japanese-style whiskies available today.
