Octomore 17.1 Super Heavily Peated is a limited-edition release from Octomore, the ultra-peated single malt program produced by Bruichladdich on the island of Islay, Scotland. Bottled as a 5 Year Old, this edition continues the Octomore series' focus on pushing peat intensity to the extreme while still carrying the distillery's Islay character.
On the nose, thick peat smoke and maritime brine lead the way, layered with sweet vanilla and a faint hint of citrus underneath. The palate delivers powerful waves of charred oak and black pepper alongside notes of dark chocolate and a touch of salted caramel, while the finish stretches on with lingering smoke, espresso, and a persistent briny edge.
