Rabbit Hole's Amburana Founders Collection is a bold reinterpretation of Kentucky bourbon tradition. This 12-year-old cask-strength whiskey undergoes a secondary aging process in rare Brazilian Amburana wood barrels, typically associated with aging cachaça. The result is a whiskey that fuses the familiar richness of aged bourbon with the exotic spiced complexity of Amburana wood. With layers of fruit, spice, and unique aromatic notes, Amburana challenges and delights the palate, offering a journey into the innovative frontier of bourbon craftsmanship.

Tasting Notes

Nose:
Opens with tropical aromas of coconut and passion fruit, mingling with dried cherries, musty leather, and fragrant barrel spices. Undertones of toasted walnut and vanilla provide a rich backdrop.

Palate:
Sweet and honeyed on entry, with red berries, caramelized sugar, and ginger snap cookies taking center stage. Complex wood notes emerge, blending cinnamon, caramelized stone fruits, and a hint of mint. The interplay of exotic spices and bourbon sweetness is both bold and balanced.

Finish:
Long and flavorful, characterized by drying tannins, burnt oak, and assertive barrel influence. Nutmeg, baking spices, and dark chocolate weave through the finish, accompanied by lingering tobacco leaf and earthy leather tones.
