Skorpios 1618 Tequila Blanco Tahona
Skorpios 1618 Tequila Blanco Tahona is the only tahona-crushed expression in the Skorpios core line, produced at NOM 1522, Hacienda de Oro in Amatitán, Jalisco, within the Los Valles region. The agaves for this release come from a single estate and are harvested at a minimum of seven to ten years of age, then cooked in traditional brick ovens before being crushed on a volcanic stone tahona wheel, a slower, more labor-intensive method than modern roller mills.
Following the tahona crush, the agave undergoes open-air fermentation and is double distilled in copper pot stills, with additive-free deep-well and natural-spring water used throughout production. Crystal clear in the glass, it opens with cooked agave, lime and lemon zest, butter, and notes of basil and sage. On the palate it is ultra-smooth, layering citrus, butter, earth, cooked agave, and volcanic stone, and it finishes long and crisp with deep, traditional, green vegetal garden notes.
Housed in a distinctive white glazed ceramic snake bottle, this tahona-crushed blanco makes a striking addition to any tequila collection and pairs well with other single-estate expressions in our tequila lineup. Ships to most US states. Adult-signature required at delivery.
