Peated Aromas: Allt Gleann offers an intense peated experience with a whopping 77PPM (phenol parts per million). The aroma is a bold blend of smoky, earthy, and maritime notes. Heavily peated barley shines through, providing a rich, campfire-like smokiness. The scent conjures images of a coastal bonfire, with hints of brine and sea salt in the air.
Fermentation: The use of pinnacle MG+ and safespirit M-1 yeast strains adds depth to the whisky's complexity, contributing to its character. These yeasts enhance the fermentation process and influence the whisky's flavor profile.
Barrel Maturation: Allt Gleann is aged in a combination of first-fill bourbon barrels and re-fill whisky barrels. This dual maturation process allows the whisky to absorb the rich, vanilla-like sweetness from the bourbon casks while retaining its peaty essence from the refill barrels.
Strength and Clarity: This expression is bottled at 46% ABV with 25 PPM residual peat, underscoring its robust character. No chill filtration or artificial coloring is employed, preserving the whisky's natural qualities and ensuring a captivating whisky experience.
