Goalong 5 Year Bourbon Cask Single Malt Chinese Whisky comes from Goalong Distillery in Liuyang, Hunan province, founded by Alan Gao and built beneath Dawei Mountain along the Liuyang River. It holds the distinction of being the first Chinese single malt whisky exported to the United States, and has earned SFWSC Silver medals in both 2023 and 2024. The whisky is distilled from 100% Australian malted barley, fermented for 72 hours at a controlled 16°C, then triple distilled through traditional pot stills before resting five years in ex-bourbon barrels from the USA.

Bottled non-chill-filtered with no added color, this single malt pours a golden amber hue and opens with fresh grass, hay, sweet fruit, honey, vanilla, and oak on the nose. The palate is soft and velvety, layering caramel and honey over tropical notes of mango and lychee, light grain, and a gentle spice undertone, finishing short-to-medium, warm, and clean with a light hoppy vanilla note.
