Redbreast 18 Year Old is the latest in the Redbreast lineup, showcasing the mastery of Midleton Distillery with its unique cask combination. This expression is crafted from a blend of ex-bourbon barrels and casks seasoned with Oloroso sherry, cream sherry, and ruby port, which impart layers of richness and depth to Redbreast's signature single pot still profile. This 18-year-old whiskey is a true testament to the artistry of the master blender, merging tradition with a diverse selection of cask influences to create a spirit that’s luxurious, complex, and utterly refined.

Tasting Notes

Nose:
Aromas of luscious berries like ripe blackcurrants and raspberries intertwine with sweet notes of sugar-glazed cherries and dried fig. Layers of hazelnut chocolate, caramelized stone fruits, and warm hints of toasted almonds and cinnamon rise, set against a background of polished oak and worn leather.

Taste:
The whiskey greets the palate with a full-bodied, rounded mouthfeel where oak tannins add structure to the decadent sweetness of sun-ripened grapes and autumnal fruits. Notes of freshly peeled ginger and a touch of liquorice add vibrancy, mingling with dried fruits, dark berries, and hints of orange peel from the wine-seasoned oak.

Finish:
Rich, lingering, and balanced. Pot still spices, fruit, and oak fade slowly in harmony, leaving a lasting impression of this whiskey’s complex and elegant character.
