Tomatin Single Malt Scotch Cask Strength Bourbon & Sherry Casks is a bold and vibrant expression, offering a true experience of Tomatin's distilling mastery. Matured in a combination of first-fill ex-Bourbon barrels and Oloroso Sherry casks, this cask-strength release showcases the perfect balance of richness, sweetness, and spice. While the whisky maintains Tomatin's characteristically smooth, mellow profile, the higher ABV gives it an added vivacity, revealing deeper layers of flavor. This expression is ideal for whisky connoisseurs seeking an intense, full-bodied dram that remains accessible and complex.

Tasting Notes

Nose: The aroma is immediately rich and inviting, with golden syrup sweetness and the comforting scent of ginger biscuits. There is a soft, underlying layer of dried fruit, giving way to an intriguing complexity from the Oloroso Sherry casks.

Palate: On the palate, the whisky opens with the malty richness of malt loaf and marzipan, which brings a distinctively sweet, bready quality. These flavors evolve smoothly into darker, deeper notes of dried fruits and a subtle touch of oak from the Bourbon casks, with a hint of vanilla.

Finish: The finish is dry, with a lingering spiciness that gently fades into a warm, woody aftertaste. The balance of Bourbon and Sherry cask influences creates a rounded, satisfying conclusion with a hint of baking spice, cloves, and black pepper.
